The Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, has introduced the “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” scheme for 2025. This initiative aims to provide interest-free loans of up to Rs. 1.5 million to eligible residents of Punjab to assist them in constructing their own homes.

Key Features of the Scheme

• Loan Amount: Up to Rs. 1.5 million interest-free.
• Repayment Period: 7 years, with no payments required for the first 3 months.
• Monthly Installment: Rs. 14,000 after the initial 3-month grace period.
• Target Beneficiaries: 70,000 families across Punjab.
• Purpose: To support low-income families in building their own homes.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the loan, applicants must:

• Be permanent residents of Punjab.
• On a plot of land measuring up to 5 marlas in urban areas or up to 10 marlas in rural areas.
• Be registered in the National Socio-Economic Registry (NSER) with a Poverty Measurement Tool (PMT) score of 60 or below.
• Have no criminal record.
• Not have defaulted on any previous loans.
