How to Take a Screenshot on Laptop and Mobile
Taking a screenshot is a quick way to capture your screen. Whether you want to save important information, an image, or an error message, screenshots help you do it easily. Here’s how you can take screenshots on laptops and mobile phones.
Take a Screenshot
For Windows Laptop:
1. PrtSc
(Print Screen):
- Pressing this key captures the full screen.
- Open Paint, press
Ctrl + V
to paste, then save.
2. Windows + PrtSc
:
- Takes a full-screen screenshot and saves it automatically in the Pictures > Screenshots folder.
3. Windows + Shift + S
:
- Opens the Snip & Sketch tool.
- Select the part of the screen you want to capture.
- The screenshot is copied to the clipboard—you can paste it into Paint, Word, or email.
4. Use the Snipping Tool:
- Search for Snipping Tool in the Start menu.
- Click New, select the area, and save the screenshot.
For Mac Laptop (MacBook):
1. Command + Shift + 3
:
- Takes a full screenshot and saves it to the desktop.
2. Command + Shift + 4
:
- Lets you select part of the screen to capture.
3. Command + Shift + 5
:
- Opens screen recording and screenshot options.
